The Harvard Club of Singapore is pleased to organise “Mediation: Strategic Conflict Management for your disputes”. Disputes are inevitable in the commercial sector. When disputes are brought to the Court, parties face hefty legal costs, potential reputational damage, as well as the loss of opportunity costs; time and resources which could have been better used to negotiate your next deal. Hence, mediation is increasingly gaining traction as a popular and preferred alternative dispute resolution mechanism. Explore, together with experts from the Singapore Mediation Centre, how mediation can help you reap substantial savings in costs and time, allow your business control over the outcome and preserve valuable business relationships, all within a private and confidential setting.

10. Wednesday, 18 Nov, 2015 07:01pm – 09:00pm – Effective Networking with Jean Balfour
When it comes to career progression, networking is considered to be a core skill, yet often it is neglected. Many people find it ‘challenging’ or ‘scary’ and prefer to avoid it, thinking that performing in their role to high standards is the only factor in having a successful career. Especially for women, many of whom are working under time constraints imposed by caring responsibilities at home, this tendency can lead to having fewer networks to call on. The workshop will introduce the importance of networking to career progression. With a practical approach, it will provide useful tools to help achieve your networking goals. Jean Balfour is an accredited executive coach and organisation consultant with over 20 years experience. She specialises in executive coaching, leadership development and diversity and inclusion. She is Managing Director at Bailey Balfour, a Singapore-based global organisation consultancy.
