1. Saturday, 26 Apr, 2014 02:30pm – 04:00pm – Singapore Woodblock Prints of the 1950’s and 1960’s

Woodblock printing as an artform gained prominence in the Post War period of Singapore’s history. The images depicted what was seen in the streets and beyond, from large events such as disasters and accidents, to daily routine and traditional customs. The stark simplicity of the images made them accessible to audience and was relatively cheap to produce. This talk will explore the work of five prominent Singaporean artists who used woodblock techniques to reflect on history, change and the reality of the times during the 1950s and 60s. Our speaker, Mae Anderson, is the Chairman of Art Outreach Singapore. To register for talks, visit http://www.artoutreachprogram.eventbrite.com Continue reading DUAL MID-APRIL 2014 UPDATE

CALLING FOR BIO/CHEM ALUMNUS FROM THE CAAAN CHAIR FOR APRIL 12 EVENT!

CAAAN is holding our annual reception for Cornell Acceptees on April 12(10am-noon at The American Club). We have 3 Bio, 1 Chem and 1 Physics student attending the reception. It would be very helpful to have a Bio/Chem alumnus to talk to them about their major. If you are recently graduated, that’s even better!
If you are available to volunteer, please contact me for more details.

Thank you
